The second generation of steel drum, which has a richer, fuller and clearer sound due to the fact that several notes are tuned on one tongue at once: a duotone has two, a tritone has three. Thus, playing on the tongue you hear an interval - an octave.
These models have a longer sustain, compared to conventional steel tongue drums.
They are just as easy to learn as the classic models, but have a cleaner sound compared to them, due to the more tuned overtones.

Steel tongue drum model with a "circular" tongues arrangement, and a large central tongue. Tongues standing next to each other on such a model form intervals and chords, allowing them to be played intuitively. The large central tongue sounds lower than the rest of the tongues, while three notes are tuned on it, when playing on different parts of such a tongue, you can hear different overtones of the notes tuned on it.
Such an arrangement of notes is based on the principle of tuning hangs and drums such as Rav Vast. This allows you to easily switch from hangs and Rav to Kosmosky steel drums and vice versa, apply your knowledge of playing one instrument while playing another. It can be said that these models were created to introduce convenience and versatility when playing different types of percussion and tongue instruments.
