Description:

NOD-1 Horseman Effects Pedal, Nux Cherub

The overdrive pedal is two in one.
One of the most popular pedals with double overdrive, released in the mid-90s, now with a unique design and in pocket format. NUX Horseman pays homage to the legendary Centaur pedal. The pedal has 3 knobs for basic settings and 2 modes: Gold and Silver (Gold and Silver), and it offers a huge power reserve, usually requiring an 18-volt input.
Gold mode imitates its classic predecessor; transparent overdrive pedal Gold Centaur and Silver mode - enhanced version with extended gain range (Silver Centaur).

Unique NUX design.
The sound is based on the Centaur pedal voltage converter circuit. But the characteristic Horseman circuit is made with a built-in OP-AMP voltage converter, which supplies 18 V voltage to the OP-AMP. Higher voltage causes more harmonics and convincingly reproduces the sound of this unique pedal.

Pure boost.
Another "classic" way to use the Horseman pedal. It is very useful when used in combination with the drive channel of amplifiers (or any other drive pedal). And, depending on the Gain - Output setting, it allows you to use Horseman as a pure booster. Low gain and high output settings add mostly volume and minimal coloring to your sound.

Natural distortion.
Among other things, the pedal allows you to add distortion to the signal, two Schottky diodes can perform the function of limiting the signal (germanium diodes are discontinued, so Schottky diodes were specially selected to reproduce the limitation of the waveform). The "gain" knob is a dual potentiometer that controls low and medium frequencies. High frequencies and volume are controlled by separate controls.

True / Buffer Bypass scheme.
The NUX Horseman pedal has the option of choosing a bypass mode. You can use the pedal in True Bypass mode to not affect your signal when the pedal is off. But it is highly recommended to choose Buffer Bypass mode if you have more than 4 pedals connected together; switch to Buffer Bypass mode and there will be no signal loss in your pedal chain!
Press and hold the footswitch and turn on the pedal; the LED indicator will show which bypass mode is activated; RED - True Bypass / GREEN - Buffer Bypass.

Gold and Silver modes: 2 independent pedal sounds in one case.
Gain, Treble and Output controls (Gain, Treble and Output).
Voltage converter.
True Bypass / Buffer Bypass scheme.
Power supply: 9V, minus in the center.
