17915МИ Romances and songs from the repertoire of F. Chaliapin. For bass accompanied by piano / comp. Makarenko O., Muzyka publishing house Moscow
The name of the great Russian singer Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin (1873-1938) is known throughout the world. "Like Caruso among tenors and Titta Ruffo among baritones, Chaliapin became the standard bass," wrote the Italian opera singer G. Lauri-Volpi.
The artist’s concert repertoire was extensive and varied. In his programs he invariably included lyrical songs by F. Schubert, R. Schumann, J. Brahms, romances by M. Glinka, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninov. Chaliapin created a whole gallery of images and characters, performing songs by A. Dargomyzhsky or M. Mussorgsky. The singer’s merits in popularizing Russian folk songs are also great.
The publication is intended for concert and pedagogical practice and amateur music-making.
