The gusli is made based on Pskov-Novgorod musical instruments, a modernized version of Skomoroshina gusli, in comparison with them the distance between the strings has been increased, and the width of the gusli has been increased accordingly. The wishes of the famous folklorist Ilya Akhromeyev were taken into account here. In whose honor the gusli was named Ilyinsky.
The gusli is 9-string, hollowed “from below”, with this design there is no adhesive connection of the soundboard, because it is part of the body of the gusli itself, this has a beneficial effect on the sound of the instrument.
Gusli 2-chamber, i.e. have two slotted cavities - two resonators, this improves the acoustic parameters, because increases the total volume of the resonator box of the gusli. Accordingly, the sound of the instrument is deep and bright, and at the same time gentle.
