This reader is intended for teachers of school choirs and music school, working with students of instrumental departments. The textbook presents the choral arrangements of folk songs from different countries, made especially for children. Simple and unpretentious, bright imagery makes it easy process of learning the songs, it is convenient to to perform. At the presented material, students are introduced to the real treasures of the national musical art, a variety of national characteristics and traditions. In addition, these artistic examples are solving purely practical tasks: forming singing voice and purity of intonation, clear diction, finally the children learn to emotionally reveal the image inherent in the work.
The main purpose of the collection - the upbringing in children a broad, universal taste, respect for the spiritual and cultural values of different countries and peoples of the world. Material of the reader is arranged in order of increasing complexity and distributed by age groups. When compiling the collection the authors took into account the difficulties encountered in process of learning and execution of this repertoire associated with the specifics of working with a school choir. After all, this is not a special discipline for this category of students who have limited time available for the study of choral repertoire.
The collection includes as already well-known folk songs as well as made by the compilers. They are based on years of experience working with children's choirs and take into account the age and individual characteristics of children.
