979-0-706406-29-9 Drukh I. Syncope. Jazz arrangements and original pieces. Arrangement and performing version for accordion (button accordion) by Orlov V., Compozitor Publishing House Saint-Petersburg

Igor Drukh lives in St. Petersburg and writes a wide variety of music. For example, visitors to serious concerts know him as the author of complex and unusual contemporary compositions. But many listeners know the other side of his musical activity: Igor Drukh plays jazz wonderfully. This is a rare combination - a real serious composer and at the same time a jazz pianist!
Igor Drukh's collection "SYNCOPE" is designed to introduce young musicians to some of the stylistic, rhythmic and harmonic features of the jazz musical language.
The publication is addressed to children studying in the class of accordion and button accordion. All material in the collection is given in the transcription and performing version of the famous St. Petersburg accordionist Vladimir Orlov.
The collection consists of two parts. All works in it are arranged in order of increasing complexity. The first part is for beginners. It includes nine pieces based on popular jazz standards. These pieces were written in the simplest key - C major, so that the little musician could concentrate all his attention and efforts on mastering the rhythmic pattern, articulation and intonations. After all, this will be a significant difficulty.
The second part of the collection includes seven original author's jazz pieces by Igor Drukh. These compositions under witty, catchy titles continue to acquaint the student with the jazz musical language, help to multiply and develop specific skills. Characteristic jazz genres are presented here: spiritual, ballad song, jazz waltz, stride, rumba, ragtime and polyphonic fughetta (the latter, although it has a completely classical name, is a kind of musical offering to the "king of ragtime" Scott Joplin).
