979-0-66000-219-3 Bach J. S. Transcriptions for one, two and three guitars by Vladimir Kuznetsov, Compozitor Publishing House Saint-Petersburg
It's difficult to find music without spiritual charge in the creations of J.S. Bach (1650–1750). Everything from menuet to oratorio is filled with thought and light. There is no doubt that the arranger and the performer of his compositions should feel the great responsibility.
Investigating Bach's music we can notice two curious moments: the first is that Bach often created one composition for different musical instruments — for example, klavir concerts, which had primerally the violin versions, two lute suites, that had violin and violoncello variants and the fuga from the First violin sonata, which had organ and lute versions. We can find a lot of such examples. The second moment is that Bach himself was an excellent arranger of the other composer's creations. For example he arranged the Alessandro Marcello's concert for klavir which had been written for oboe and violin orchestra in original variant Bach also did the same work with Vivaldy' s concerts.
Even these two noticed facts give more possibilities to the modem musician in solving the problems of transcriptions of the Great Master's works.
This album includes transcriptions for mostly two guitars, that give an opportunity to express the author's idea fully accurately without breaking spatial and temporal life of the sounds.
