Alexey Nikolayevich Kofanov was born in 1971. His green years passed in the Siberian city Kemerovo, while in 1982 he moved to Leningrad — St Petersburg, where he studied in the Musorgsky Music College.
Alexey Kofanov has the command of talents. He is altogether a guitarist, singer, composer, literary man and artist. Kofanov’s creation was honoured by the variety song’s competition «Idols of the 21st Century». Among the young composer’s opuses there are four symphonies, two concertos for guitar and orchestra, Concerto for piano and orchestra, symphonic poem «Svetloyar» (firstly performed in the Petersburg Kapelle), more than hundred songs, the verlibres collection «Mould of Melodies», stories «Recruits» (together with N. Kofanov), novel «Dismantling».
The spectators of the amateur theatre «Balaganchik» («Little Show-Booth») watch Kofanov among the actors. Simultaneously he heads the group «Ultra FO».Being the member of the Russian Artists’ Union from 1998, Kofanov managed to impress his admirers by numerous graphic and painted works («Twenty Aspect of the Trinity Cathedral», «Promenade Along the City», «Bell-towers of the Petersburgian Temples», «Flowers and Windows», «Epic Dreams» etc). Many of his works are issued by the Graphic Arts Centre.
Alexey Kofanov is the participant of the city, regional and republican exhibitions. Personal exhibitions (together with N. I. Kofanov): 1998 — the Pushkin Museum (the Moika Emb. 12); 1999 — Library № 10; 2000 — Concert Hall near the Finlandsky Station.
The novel «Dismantling» by A. Kofanov was published by the «Neva Magazine» (2005, № 1). The Twelve Etudes for guitar are recommended for education and concert practice.
