The outstanding violinist, teacher, and composer Veniamin Sher is one of the most prominent representatives of the L. Auer school.
In the composer’s heritage of V. Sher, a special place is occupied by the 24 virtuoso etudes for solo violin created in the last period of his creative work, which not only accumulate the author’s enormous performing and teaching experience, but also mark a new stage in the development of the genre of artistic etude.
Continuing the traditions of the best examples - the caprices of N. Paganini, G. Wieniawski - V. Sher's virtuoso etudes are distinguished by their unusually capacious artistic content and a huge variety of technical techniques used. The richness of the content leads to the search for a new form and texture, revealing the amazing creative imagination and compositional ingenuity of the author. At the same time, nowhere in the sketches do technical problems come to the fore. Many of the etudes appear as completely finished concert pieces of high artistic value.
