The symphonic suite “Waltz”, ор. 110, was created by Sergei Prokofiev in 1946. Неге you come across the six representatives of this genre: three ones from the ballet “Cinderella” (“Cinderella in the Castle”, “The End of the Tale”, “Towards the Fortune”), two ones from the opera “War and Peace” (“The Тime I Met You”, “New Year Ваll”) and “Mefisto-Waltz” from the music to the film “Lermontov”.
The suite “Waltzes” was firstly performed in Moscow on Мау 13, 1947. The orchestra was conducted by М. О. Steiman.
